I purchased the 561 and it was a VERY easy install. Also, Humminbird’s menu has got to be the easiest out there. Seriously, after just a few minutes…navigating through the system was a breeze. I ran our new boat in five to forty feet of water. After I located fish at the 23′ mark, I told my wife how far down to fish. She and my daughter BOTH caught fish right away. (I was a hero). I would highly suggest this unit for a person looking to be introduced into the world of correct depth and rod-bending excitement. (The only reason that I didn’t give a 5-star rating is that the mounting base is fairly large…and was a pain to install between my windshield and steering wheel).

Purchased this to replace a 20 year old Humminbird that finally bit the dust. I use it on Lake Erie. It is easy to use and the screen is easy to read with a number of display options. I particularly like the split screen display showing both sensors. I know it works because when I mark fish, I catch fish. I wish the fish alarm was a bit louder, it is difficult to hear over the engine noise. The other issue is probably my fault. I mounted it near the outboard, and it doesn’t mark fish when running at higher speeds, probably due to the vibrations. Other than that, I would really recommend it. It is a really great unit for the price.

i buy it for present for brother. he want just this one. he says that all working at needed, so it is basic needed function.
