Excellent Product,
Excellent fly rod, reels and case. They state it is a beginner set, but having fished for the last 36 years I would put this rod against my orvis and hand made rods. The fly reel is not the top of the line, but it is perfect for my intended use. Great product, great people, super fast shipping. Extremely pleased.

|Good, but incomplete,
I’m giving 5 stars even though there are some problems with the fly reel. I really like this versatile rod. I’m lucky enough to live withing bicycle distance of several kinds of fishing. This one rod does it all. It does bass and crappie on the fly, or you can switch to spinning when needed. And, you can fish for trout at the local river. For bigger fish, it converts to a shorter, heavier rod.
The drag in the fly reel is backwards. There is no instruction for reversing it. That means that the drag works against you when you reel in line, but doesn’t function when the fish is taking line out. I suppose you could palm the reel, but I really want a drag that works.
The rod is intended to be used with 5/6 fly line, but the reel is a 3/4. I’m not sure if a 5 weight would fit on this reel. Fly line is not included. (The other reels are lined.)
I ended up using a reel from my other fly rod. I don’t expect to have any use for the defective 3/4 reel.
I don’t understand the logic of providing both spinning and spin/cast reels. One would be enough for me. The money spent on the spin/cast could have been spent on some fly line…
Still, I am quite happy with this purchase. It works for everything I do except salmon and steelhead.
